(Almost) 39 weeks

I usually post the weekly updates on Wednesdays so it is actually on the start of each new week, but I am excited to report some new information! I had an ultrasound this morning to estimate the baby's weight. As of today they say he is 6 lbs 7 oz and that he will probably be about 7lbs at birth. That is great news for me! I was really hoping not to have to give birth to a 9 lb baby! Also, Tyler's head has definitely dropped. It was so far down that they were not able to see his face at all in the ultrasound. Also the unbilical cord is NOT wrapped around his neck which is great news! Other than that, everything looks good and healthy with the baby based on what they can see with the ultrasound so that is a huge relief too! I am going to be walking around a lot this week to try to get active labor started!

How your baby's growing:Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
