Viceroy Snowmass (Aspen)

We just got back yesterday from a trip out to Colorado. We flew into Aspen, and stayed at the new Viceroy Hotel there. It was really nice and definitely great service. It was ski in ski out which was so nice! They also have a ski valet, and they keep your snowboards and boots down there, and have everything ready for you when you go down to go snowboarding! We had a great time and already can't wait for the next trip out there!

Our friends Shadia, Vu & Zoe met us there, and we also met up with a few friends who live in Aspen! It was so much fun but I was really bad about taking pictures.

Having fun!

Here are a few random photos of the kiddies!

Tyler has such a great time laughing and rolling around on his train quilt in Mammoth.

Come play with me!

Happy boy!

Chloe & Aspen look pretty happy lounging on the couch...

Tyler does not sit still any more in the bath tub. My arm is under him in case he slips so that his face doesn't go into the water, but I had no part in getting him into this position. He climbs and moves and splashes all over the place.

Mmmmmm. Tasty!

I forgot....

I forgot to mention in Tyler's 6 month update that he now recognizes his own name! If he hears it, he will turn to look. Unless, of course, he is busy playing!

A fun and thoughtful gift

Last weekend John and Agatha Kim came up to Mammoth while we were still up there. They brought the coolest gift for Tyler!

They got him this amazingly beautiful handmade heirloom sled! What a thoughtful gift!

We can't wait till next winter when we can really play with it!

For now we just get to take some cute pictures on it...

Thanks John & Agatha!!

Happy boy!

I finally got a pretty good video of Tyler laughing! I think it is so adorable when he starts laughing like this! Often we aren't even sure exactly what is so funny!

6 Months old!

Dear Tyler,

I can’t believe that you are already 6 months old! You are definitely not a newborn anymore! You are a totally different baby than you were just a few short months ago. Already in just 6 months I really feel like your personality has come through. There are times when both your Daddy and I feel like we don’t want any more kids because it is so much fun just having you! We can’t imagine having any other baby besides you, but we know that it would be best for you to grow up with a sibling.

We went to your 6 month pediatrician appointment! You now weigh 15 lbs. 3 oz. which puts you in the 15th percentile for weight. Your length is now 27 inches, which is the 75th percentile. The doctor says you are healthy and developing well. She thinks that you will be an early crawler considering you are basically pretty much crawling already. She wants us to try to introduce solids slowly. We will probably start with sweet potatoes and squash.

You are really trying to become mobile in any way you can. You love to get up on your hands and knees and try to push yourself around, which often ends up going backwards instead of forward. You are on the verge of really crawling, you just haven’t quite figured out the coordination of actually moving your hands and knees back and forth to really crawl around. Any day now we will be chasing you all over the place! Your strong little legs seem like they just want to skip crawling all together and go straight to walking. You love to be on your feet, and if you only had the balance, you would probably be walking already. The doctor says that we should encourage crawling for as long as possible though so we will try to do that! While in the bathtub, you love to grab on to the side of the tub and pull yourself up into a standing position! Mommy doesn’t like this though since the bathtub is slippery and you could fall easily. Because of this new found love to pull yourself up, we recently had to drop your crib mattress down a level!

You still only have your 2 bottom teeth, and as of now I do not see any more coming in. However the pediatrician says that your other teeth are already making their way through your gums and could be doing so for months before breaking through. Your hair is getting longer, although it is still pretty fine. I am not sure what color it will be, as of now it is sort of medium brown color.

You definitely are recognizing people who you know, and you realize when Mommy or Daddy leaves the room. At times if you want to be held by someone in particular you will hold your arms out and reach for that person. It is so cute! You also love to “talk” and laugh a lot. It makes me so curious about what it is you are thinking about!

I think it is so cute when you grab onto my face and pull my face close to yours. It is sort of like a little hug but only on the face. Your cute little hands grab onto my cheeks and bring my face right next to yours. Sometimes when you do this, you will rub your face against mine. I am not really sure exactly what it is that you are trying to do when this happens, but I still think it is really cute! At first when you started to do this about a month ago, you would grab my cheeks, and then open your mouth and start chewing on my nose or chin. I thought it was because you might have been getting more teeth in, but none ever came in and now you don’t chew on my face any more.

I can’t believe we are already half way through your first year of life! Part of me is sad that you are growing so fast but most of me is having so much fun watching you grow and mature into a fun, adorable little boy! I can’t wait to see what the rest of this first year will bring!

Love,

Mommy

Tom & Jerry

Uncle Steve looked up old Tom & Jerry cartoons on YouTube for Tyler to watch. Tyler usually isn't really allowed to watch tv but he does seem to love it.

Don't mess with Chloe's frisbee!

Anyone who knows Chloe knows that she loves her frisbee! She brings it to whoever she can find to throw it for her. Now she has started to bring it to Tyler and leave it next to him, as if he is going to throw it for her! It is pretty funny to watch her sit there and wait for him to throw it! Not surprisingly, he doesn't throw it for her, but rather picks it up and starts to play with it himself while poor Chloe sits there in anticipation waiting...

She finally gives up and goes to take it back!

Almost crawling....

For the past week or so Tyler has really been trying to push up onto his knees to crawl. He has been making every effort for several weeks to move himself around whatever way he could, but this is a new step. I don't think he is very far away from actually crawling!

This rolly ball is a new toy that was a gift from Eloisa. Tyler has so much fun playing with it. It makes sounds, lights up and rolls around all by itself!

A bear in our backyard!

While Mommy was away, Daddy and Uncle Steve dressed me up in my bear suit and took me in the backyard. Uncle Steve took some really cute pictures of me!

In our backyard, the snow builds up and right now it is about 5 feet tall. Daddy put me onto the snow so they could take these pictures. No one goes back there really so the snow is perfect and so fluffy!

Hi Mommy!

While Mommy was away in New York I got to see and hear her on the computer! It's amazing how we are still able to see each other while on opposite sides of the country. I had lots of fun smiling at her! I was so happy to see her face and hear her voice, and I definitely recognized that it was her!

Bad Uncle Petey.....

This is what happens when Uncle Petey and Steve are left alone with me. Bad news! Don't worry, the bottle was empty. Mommy never would have let me have a beer bottle! Come home soon Mommy!

Adventure with Daddy

Mommy is on her first trip away from me! She went to New York for a vacation with a friend. For the first day after she left I stayed with Grandma & Grandpa at their house. I had lots of fun! Then Daddy came to pick me up. He took me home and Auntie Robin watched me while Daddy went to work. Then today (Saturday 1/16) we drove to Mammoth with Daddy's friend Steve. Here's a picture that Steve took while we stopped so I could eat. Steve text messaged it to Mommy, and it made her miss me even more!

New friend

Uncle Darrin and Maritza gave me this cool giraffe for Christmas. I love him so much! I love to snuggle with him, and I also think he tastes really good! I love to bite on his legs...

Who knew that the first thing I would like to eat in my high chair was a toy giraffe!

Bath time

Mommy remembers the very first time she gave me a bath at home. I was so tiny, and putting me in there with water was so scarry for her. From the very first time, I have always loved my bathtime! Now, I am much bigger, and bath time is a whole new adventure from what it used to be. I used to lay there calmly in my bathtub and enjoy the relaxation. Now, I love to splash, make tidal waves, eat my washcloth, eat the bathtub, try to sit up, stand up and any other kind of things I can think of!

Nick & Tracey Rivera

Nick & Tracey Rivera were in Mammoth for New Years. They came over to our house to visit! I had lots of fun playing with Tracey.
